Neptune’s Nectar Publishing is an independent niche publisher with two main objectives: Surrealist Non Linear Narratives and Indigenous Narrators.

Founded by an Moroccan Amazigh American multidisciplinary writer, artist and director in hopes of creating a space for indigenous stories that are often overshadowed and shelved for their lack of marketability. We also hold an aspiration to introduce and house our new genre: Surrealist Non Linear Narratives.

For the Publishing Industry: Our objective is to highlight independent publishers by creating a community space and to take proactive actions towards rearranging the power structures at play. In the same sense that the music industry has opened so many doors by allowing independent artists to flourish, instead of requiring a standard record label deal as the only way to gain exposure. We believe the publishing industry should follow suit. In our opinion, the Big 5 is a thing to soon be of the past, and as we move through the times we hope INPD can be the beginning of writers choosing independent niche publishers to submit to directly instead of the current model of finding literary agent representation who submit on your behalf.

For the Culture: Our objective is to create a solution to dopamine culture, by creating a format of literature to which is digestible for the dopamine reliant consumers. While still placing significance on quality. SNLN (Surrealist Non Linear Narratives) is what we believe to be a possible solution to dopamine culture for the writing industry.

For Our Company: Our objective is to uplift Native American and Imazighen writers by giving them a space to publish their work from short form in our newsletter to completed manuscripts of all types of narratives in our publishing company. While also solidifying ourselves as the home of SNLN (Surrealist Non Linear Narratives) for people all ethnicities and nationalities. We want to carve out a space for Surrealism and hopefully begin a renaissance for one of the most captivating literary movements.

A Word from our Founder on her inclusion of the Native American Community:

“Born and raised in Philadelphia, America is a part of my family tree now. But as an Imazighen woman I know what it means to have your language, your customs and your culture taken away from you because it is no longer compatible with the new model created for your land. I cannot in good faith create a publishing company to celebrate Amazigh writers based in America on what was all once Native land without extending an invitation to Native American community as well. I work alongside a dear close deeply admired Native American peer of mine to help with any and all submissions from Native American writers to hopefully become published works here at Neptune’s Nectar Publishing. I believe we must always pay respect to the rooms and the buildings that we walk into, but also to the land we walk on.”
